Adella M. Rose
(Dann)
May 26, 1923 – October 19, 2013
Adella, a beautiful human being, born and raised in Oakland, California with her two sisters, Mary and Nancy Dann. Born to her Father Judson and mother Clara Dann.
A friend to all throughout her life, Adella was a graduate from San Francisco State University and began her teaching career at age 22. She was known and loved by co-workers and students in parochial and public East Bay Schools.
Adella, a wonderful mother as no other, is remembered lovingly by her four children, who will miss her deeply. She was loved and cherished by her ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and known to them as Poppy, Grandma and Nonnie.
Adella, a devoted and beautiful wife to De Rose. The two were “roses” indeed for all of their forty-one extraordinary years together.
Adella, a Gemini, loved the opera, and delighted in nature and the garden. She shared her charm, wit, and humor and was an adventuress. Adella was positive and happy and she emanated wisdom, spreading her spirited life to all. To Adella, the leaves were “beautiful flowers.” Her journey commenced in love and peace.
We all will miss her very much, until we meet again.
“Who has seen the wind, neither you or I,
But when the leaves bow down their heads
The wind is passing by.” Christina Rosetti
