Albert Phillip Brady

Our dear husband, father, grandfather and friend, Albert Phillip Brady, left us on 4/10/2023 at the age of 75.  Al was born in Fontana California to Albert Samuel & Mary Agnes Brady.  He grew up in Ontario, CA, attended Chaffee High School and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona. He later earned an MBA degree at La Verne University in Claremont.

Al married Barbara Olcovich in 1965, living in Upland, CA. with their three children, Christine, Ed and David.  During this time, he worked for Hunt Wesson Foods in Fullerton, CA as a salesman.

After being single for a short time, Al married Elizabeth Walcher in 1985 and lived in Diamond Bar, CA.  They had one child, Michael, before moving to Omaha, NE for work reasons.  After spending 22 years in Nebraska, Al and Beth moved back to California (Camarillo) to be near the children and grandchildren.

Al spent most of his career at ConAgra Foods as a salesman, and later as a Supply Chain Director.  He was proud of his accomplishments and despite his sense of humor, he took his career seriously and rarely missed a day of work.  He accomplished the rare feat of working over 40 years for the same firm, and earned his retirement in 2012.

Al will be remembered as a family oriented, bigger than life, “everyone’s friend” personality who loved to tease.  He had the unique ability to put people at ease immediately.  In high school he played trumpet in the marching band and had a ham radio license.  Colorado was his favorite place to visit, and he loved the mountains.  He enjoyed his retirement home in the Tehachapi mountains, and rode bikes with his Las Casitas community friends.  He was a Homeowner Association Board member, and was proud of the improvements that he was able to help make in the community.  Al taught online college classes in retirement and was at his best when working with other people.

More than anything else, he loved his children and grandchildren.  He could never get enough of visiting them and hearing about their lives.  He was so looking forward to watching them all grow and evolve, hearing about their careers, school events and relationships.

Al is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mary.  He is survived by his wife Beth, brother Bryan and his wife, Jeri; by his daughter Christine and grandchildren Jessica, Christopher and Cody; by his son Ed and his wife Cassie and granddaughter Sofia; by his son David and his wife Kasia and granddaughters Emma and Maya, and by his son Mike.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Al on April 23 at 1pm at the Las Casitas development park, and all friends and family are invited to attend.
