On July 11, 2018 Alfred Otto Lentz, Jr. passed away at the age of 89. He
was born on December 7, 1928 on the family farm in Rollet, North
Dakota. He was the son of Alfred and Elsa Lentz.
He attended Walla Walla High School and lettered in both football and
boxing. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp.
Al married Erma White in 1949. They raised 2 children in Walla Walla:
Pamela and Ronald. He was preceded in death by his wife and later
married Judy Sterlin who had 2 children: Julie and John. He was also
preceded in death by six siblings. He is survived by his sister, Louise
Sue Marquette, and his sister-in-law, Louise Lentz. Both are residing
in Walla Walla. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren
with one on the way.
Al's work history included working for Consolidated Freightways, an
entertainment promoter, selling Electrolux Vacuum Cleaners with his
father and as a member of the "Million Dollar Roundtable" as a life
insurance agent.
During his final years, he resided at the Walla Walla Veterans Home where
Dad was treated like royalty by the entire staff and Dr. Jenkins, and passed away
peacefully.
He will be inurned with full military honors at the Tahoma National
Cemetary, also known as "The Land of Heros", August 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM.
