Allan Alegado, (1971-2024), age 52, of Orlando, FL, died of cardiac arrest on 22 September 2024. He was born in Manila, Philippines, arrived in the US on January 1973, and got his US citizenship status on November 1978. He belonged to a military family where moving around to many places was part of life. Eventually settling down in Orlando, FL, Allan attended Colonial High School before studying to be an electrical engineer at the University of Central Florida (UCF). While working his way through college, he worked at SeaWorld Orlando and Universal Studios Orlando. As a lifelong artist, he loved to draw and sketch just about anything and everything to hone in his craft. When opportunities arose to work using his talents, he left UCF and worked for such companies/institutions as Kosmo Studios (Digital Artist/Traditional Animator), Full Sail University (Lab Specialist), Echo Games (Concept Designer), ZeeGee Games (Visual Design Lead), First5 Games (Art Director), Walt Disney Imagineering (Associate Graphics Designer), JRA (Graphic Designer/Visual Communications Designer), B Morrow Productions (Graphic Designer), and freelance work for various side projects for clients scattered throughout his career. But besides his career, Allan was an avid salsa dancer for over 10 years prior and most currently an avid player of the Pokemon Go mobile game. These hobbies came with communities that Allan emerced himself in to make many life long friends.
Allan was preceded in death by his father, Avelino Alegado (US Navy-retired, deceased 2012); his uncle, Juan ‘Johnny’ Alegado (deceased 2023); his uncle Teodoro ‘Ted’ Balbin (deceased 1995); his aunt, Milagros Balbin (deceased 2019); his cousin, Jason Balbin (deceased 2013); and is survived by his mother, Elenita Alegado; his brother, Aries Alegado; his sister-in-law, Alicia Alegado; and his niece, Avelina Alegado; [On the Paternal side] his uncle, Jesus ‘Jessie’ Alegado with wife, Rebecca, and children, Jereco, Rean, and Tricia; his uncle Agripino ‘Omy’ Alegado with wife, Marietta, and children, Jennifer and Albert; his aunt, Magda Alegado, with children Francis and Lex; his aunt, Jaqueline Alegado with husband, Jimmy Cabling, and son, Jean Michael Alegado; l[On the Maternal side] his cousin, Jocelyn Balbin, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins who reside in South Carolina, Maryland, Connecticut, California, and the Philippines.
Blessings and mass for Allan’s ashes will be held at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church on 26 October 2024 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Memorial services for the general public will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on 02 November 2024 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm (private family time from 9:30 to 10:00 am).
Internment of his ashes will come at a later date with just immediate family in attendance.
