Allen Ralph Saari, age 73, passed peacefully on May 10, 2016, after a hard battle with cancer. He never gave up, dedicated to his family and business, continued working up to the last few days of his life. Son of Fred E. and Lois G. Saari of Seattle, WA. Allen graduated from Washington State University with a business degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and was elected as the youngest President of the Hotel and Restaurant Association for the State of Washington at age 34. His early career began in Seattle moving him to Spokane, Las Vegas and then on to California in 1982, servicing the hospitality industry for over 50 years. Allen's reputation was one of excellence. His present company, Lodgeco, a Division of Unlimited Lodging Services in Palm Springs, provided a team of professionals in design, purchasing and installation services furnishing over 20,000 rooms. Allen was an avid golfer, an accordion champion in his youth and a champion bowler.
He is survived by his wife, Annette J. Saari, Palm Springs, his daughter, Dawn L. Saari and granddaughter, Sophie A. Saari of Couer d'Alene, ID, his sister, Alice J. Slagle (husband Gary), of Indio, CA, and nephew, Aaron J. Slagle (wife Shelby) of Redmond, WA. We will always remember that wonderful smile, Allen, and keep you in our hearts forever.
