Amelia Emily Sosa

Amelia Emily Sosa, 68, of Harlingen, TX, passed away on March 1, 2024. She was born on June 19, 1955. Amelia was a loving individual who adored her grandchildren and dedicated her time to volunteering at parenting centers to be closer to them. She loved listening to oldies music and watching Frasier when she wanted to laugh.
In her career, Amelia worked as a seamstress for Levi's Strauss before becoming a school bus driver, a role from which she retired from HCISD. She cherished her family deeply and is survived by her children: Veronica Sosa, Sandra Sosa (Jaime), Andrea Sosa (Jesse), Zachary (Rick) Rodriguez (Emily), grandchildren: Dion Sosa (Cricket), Darian Ramos-Austin (Tim), Diego Garza, Joaquin Garza, Aura Rangel, Denesio Rangel, Andres Rodriguez, Ezekiel Rodriguez and Lucy Rodriguez. great-grandchildren: Seth, Odin, Atlas, Timothy Noah, Rosalee, and Lily; as well as siblings: Juan, Rey, Lupe, Lydia, Linda and Tencha
Amelia's mother, Maria Ybarra; sister, Juanita Gonzalez; and stepfather, Pablo Ybarra, preceded her in death. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A service to honor Amelia's life will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to any local food banks in her memory.
