Ann Lita Friedman, 85, of San Jose, California died peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 as a result of a sudden stroke experienced the previous day. She is survived by her husband Sheldon, her son Steve and his wife Tracy Sherman, her daughter Karen and her husband Rob Snyder, her four grandchildren Stephanie and Michael Friedman, Julia and Jack Snyder, her sister Sandra and her husband Sheldon Kingstone, nephews Brian, Neal, and Michael, nieces Lori and Deborah and many loving friends.
Ann Lita, a woman of infinite grace, warmth and love of life, was born on October 11, 1931, in Montreal, Canada to parents David and Dianne Stern (z'l). They moved in 1941 to Toronto, Canada where Ann Lita spent her childhood and young adult years.
She met Sheldon while visiting San Jose for a family event in 1952. After a brief courtship during his Navy training, they were engaged, and then married in 1953. Ann Lita began her married life in Coronado, California moving to San Jose in 1955 and then to San Mateo, California in 1963 where she and Sheldon raised their two children.
Ann Lita returned to work in 1977, joining her husband as VP and partner in Com/Cal Construction. Upon retirement Ann Lita and Sheldon returned to San Jose, moving to The Villages retirement community where they enjoyed a wonderful social life and traveled extensively.
Ann Lita was a remarkably kind, generous and loving wife, mother, aunt, grand-mother and friend. She was most proud of her family and the close friends she has made over the years. She will be remembered for her bravery, sense of humor and amazing grace.
