Annabelle Brown passed away at home on March 2, 2016 in the loving arms of her family. She was born in 1933 the second child to Harold and Francis Nelson. She graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in Des Moines, Iowa.
Annabelle married Robert Brown in Boone, Iowa in 1956. Their union lasting 60 loving years with six children. She worked as a Registered Nurse at The Dalles General Hospital and Columbia Basin Nursing Home in The Dalles.
Annabelle, known as Ann, loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was an avid reader, bird watcher, loved to garden and dance with the love of her life. Our mother was what you would expect a mother to be and more. She was a lady to many, wife to one, and role model to us all. She was the loving heartbeat of our family and will be felt throughout many generations to come.
Annabelle is survived by her husband, Robert, The Dalles; children, Chris Borg (Karl), Hillsboro; Bob Brown (Dorene), The Dalles; Mike Brown (Julie), Burns; Kathy McBride (Dave), The Dalles; Kim Snyder (Joe), Gresham; Deanne Witter (Duane), The Dalles; brother Gaylord Nelson (Fern), Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 20 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many other relatives and good friends. Annabelle was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, one great granddaughter and a nephew.
On Wednesday, March 30, 2016 a recitation of the rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass and celebration of life at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1222 W. 10th Street, The Dalles, Oregon. A private family interment will be held at the Willamette National Cemetery.
