Anne Ruth (Seney) Jennings - June 22, 1920 – July 14, 2023

Anne R (Seney) Jennings, age 103, formerly of Aston, PA., passed away Friday afternoon, July 14, 2023, surrounded with love at the home of her daughter, Ruth DeGrazia, in Santee, CA.

After fulfilling a century of life here on earth, Anne departed peacefully to make her final journey “home” with her family by her side to bid her farewell.

Anne was born in Newport, DE to the late William E. Seney and Cora Marie (Steinmetz) Seney. In addition to her parents, Anne is preceded in death by her late husband, James Arnold Jennings, Sr. (who passed away in 1988) and her six siblings – Archie Seney, Ralph Seney, Woodie Seney, Evelyn (Seney) Eden, Margaret (Seney) Sharpe, and Vernon Seney. She also experienced the unfortunate and untimely deaths of her son, James A. Jennings, Jr., and her granddaughter, Cynthia A. Gallimore.

Anne raised her family in her home of eighty years on Green Lane in Aston, PA. She loved playing Bridge with her friends at the Aston Community Club whenever she could.

After spending a good many winters in CA, while maintaining her residence in PA, Anne eventually decided to move permanently to Santee, CA to live with her daughter. While there, she attended church at Calvary Ranch in Lakeside.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, needlework and playing a wide variety of games, especially “Hand and Foot” and “Bunco.” She was a lively addition to each group, always soft-spoken, gentle, kind, and ladylike, sharing her smile and joy at every opportunity.

Anne is survived by her children, Ruth DeGrazia of Santee, CA. and Linda Piccone of West Chester, PA, along with her nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She adored her family, as they did her. She will be greatly missed by all. You could not ask for a more loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Friend.

A memorial will be held for her at a future date in both Santee, CA and West Chester, PA. Her ashes will be interred with her husband at Chester Bethel Cemetery on Faulk Rd, Wilmington, DE
