Anne Parker SwigartSept. 23, 1932 - June 17, 2012 Anne was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Herbert P. Swigart and Frances Barbe Swigart. She lived in Ohio, Colorado, Iowa, and Utah before settling in Portland for most of her 79 years. After a several month off-and-on struggle in poor health, she died peacefully in her sleep. Anne took a scholarly and professional approach to all of her career choices. Her parents had taught her that "anything worth doing is worth doing well". According to her bosses and co-workers, that is exactly what she did. She graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1954 with a BA in Education and began work as a junior high school health and physical education teacher in Cleveland, Ohio. Her next venture was that of X-ray technician for private doctors' offices and then at Providence Hospital in Portland. She retired in 1998 after many years of administrative work in the records department of the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System. Anne is survived by her sister, Kathy Bainbridge, nephews Doug Bainbridge (Dona), and Paul Bainbridge (Pam), niece Nancy B. Rogers (Steve) and grandnephews, grandnieces, and cousins. There will be no memorial service at her request. Please sign her online guest book at www.mem.com. Donations in honor of Anne may be made at Make-A-Wish.Oregon or your local animal shelter.
