Annie Sanchez

December 24, 1939 — March 18, 2022

Annie Sanchez

Annie Sanchez was an extremely generous, loving, energetic wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She left this world suddenly on March 18, 2022, and passed peacefully into the healing arms of her Savior.

She was born to Leonardo and Sofia Santana on December 24, 1939, in Guánica, Puerto Rico. Her parents moved the family to NYC in 1949. After getting married in 1962, Annie and Tony moved west to Southern California. Together, they had three children: Anthony, Robert, and Rebecca.

Annie was a giver, a servant, a natural caretaker, a woman with a huge heart to help anyone and everyone. Nothing or no one could stop her from doing for others. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She lived for family. The care and comfort of her husband was her biggest priority. She served him up to the end.

Annie loved cooking and she did it very well. Whenever she had a visitor, she would quickly whip up a delicious meal for them and they would stay for hours, ending their visit with a strong cup of coffee. She loved babies, chubby babies, and never hesitated to bite, pinch, and squeeze them. She was a skilled cosmetologist and was cutting and dying hair up until her 80’s. She loved driving and driving fast. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, sister, nieces, nephews, cousin, and neighbors, talking, laughing, eating... Most of all she loved the Lord and put her trust and faith in The Bible and found hope in the promises of God.

She is survived by: her husband of almost 60 years, Tony; children, Anthony Sanchez, Robert Sanchez, Rebecca Menchaca (husband Wayne); grandchildren, Robert Sanchez (wife Nicole), Dean Menchaca and Sofia Menchaca; great grandson Wyatt Sanchez; siblings Josephine Santana and William Santana; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1pm on May 14, 2022 at the Cerritos Bahia Yacht Club 6291 E Pacific Coast HWY Long Beach CA.
