Anthony Tangorra

Anthony Tangorra, 89 of Mesa, AZ passed away peacefully on October 6th, 2025. 

Anthony was born and raised in Chicago, IL on June 10th, 1936 to Josephine and Louis Tangorra. He spent a couple of years at Austin High School and decided it wasn't for him. He met his bride to be, Marlene Gentili in 1957 and they married on April 12th, 1958. Soon after, Tony went to barber school in Chicago and opened up Mr. T's Barber Shop in Schiller Park, IL in 1960. He also had a pizza parlor called the Red Mug in Franklin Park. Mr. T and Mama T were tired of the snow and moved to Fountain Hills, AZ in 1995. Mr. T. found several different barber shops to work in the Phoenix area and he barbered until 2016. 

Mr T. is survived by his bride of 67 years, Marlene (Ginnie), his daughter Julie (Tom), son, Gregg, sister Judi, grandsons Anthony and Derek, and his sweet dog, Fannie. Andy, his brother, passed away in 2005. His sense of humor and his love of all things sweet will be missed. A memorial service will be held in early December in Gilbert, AZ.
