Armando O. Vasquez, a beloved and revered husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, joined his soulmate in Heaven on June 21st at the age of 81 in Phelan, CA. Born on April 5th, 1944, in Blythe, CA, Armando went on to make a mark in many ways, most notably with his family. He is survived by his sons Anthony and Armando, daughters Lisa Medina and Gina Arias, 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Armando was preceded by his beautiful wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Vasquez. The most undeniable truth about him was that he was deeply in love with the woman he met in January of 1959 at a Johnny Otis session show. From that moment on they spent 64 years building a wonderful life together. They both left a legacy of love and their song “16 Candles” is playing in Heaven now that they have reunited.

He had a great passion for music, gifted with the ability to both sing and play the guitar. He was known for his physical strength, workmanship and knowledge, having built his own home. His hard work ethic and determination to provide for his family set an example for all who knew him as he drove truck for 40 years, most memorably with Swiss Dairy. He enjoyed archery and hunting, holding membership with the Challengers Bowhunters Club for nearly 40 years.

He will be remembered for his great wisdom and fervent faith, for his smile, passion and jovial spirit. He was a blessing to us all.

Happy Trails grandpa, until we meet again. May you rest in peace in the presence of Jesus.
