Barbara Ross Harrison

Barbara R. Harrison passed away peacefully in home hospice from a battle with lung & brain cancer on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.
Barbara was born in Lubbock, Texas on July 14, 1945 to James and Faye Ross. The family moved to the high plains of Lubbock from Big Sandy where her sister Donna (1941-2019) and Barbara were born.
Her daddy, James, was a master carpenter working as an independent craftsman his entire life. Mother Faye was a steadfast Christian homemaker, who was the rock of the family.
Barbara graduated from Lubbock- Monterrey High School in 1963, then enrolled in Texas Tech on her dollar.
She excelled at Texas Tech University in Business College while faithfully working her way through college. She moved to the low lands of Deer Park, Texas where she found employment at Rohm & Haas Co. located along the Houston Ship Channel where she subsequently met her husband, Bill Harrison, in 1968 and later married him on May 3, 1969. They were blessed with a good, Christian marriage for 52 years. Thanks be to God!
Barbara and Bill were blessed with two beautiful children, William Chad (born 1974) and Kristin Danielle (born 1976). They lived in La Porte, TX until 1983 when they relocated to Oporto, Portugal on assignment with The Upjohn Company – Polymer Chemicals Div. to build a new plant.
Barbara was a very loving stay-at-home mother who taught Chad and Kristin the love of reading, family Christian values, cooking, and how to just plain have fun enjoying their childhood.
Upon the family's return from Portugal in 1986, the children passed through CCISD graduating from CLHS and on to TAMU where they both graduated in 1998. A very proud milestone for Barbara and Bill! A very BIG smile was on Barbara's face.
From 1993 on Barbara worked as an administrative employee at the Galloway private school, then on to Memorial Hermann Health System (MHHS) at their corporate headquarters in Houston as an Executive Administrative assistant who kept the Doctors in-charge on a straight path. She was loved and appreciated by all of the corporate staff!
Barbara retired from MHHS in 2016 to enjoy a well-earned, more leisurely life style at home.
Barbara is survived by her husband Bill, son Chad, daughter Kristin, daughter-in-law Lesley, son-in-law Marcus Boaz, Grandchildren William Alexander Harrison (aka Will), Lila Wren Harrison (aka Lila), Parker Votava, Evalyn Votava, and Emily Tobias; Step-daughters: Heidi Tobias and Zoee Harrison.
May God have mercy on her soul and light perpetual shine upon her forever.
