Bertha Maria Poindexter

Bertha Maria Poindexter cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, in Carlsbad, Ca. Born on April 29, 1934, in Tuxpan Nayarit-Mexico. Bertha was a shining light of love and dedication throughout her life. She was a straight talker, always conveying her thoughts with sincerity and emotion, qualities that endeared her to all who knew her. Bertha’s family and love of God were the foundation of her life, and she cherished every single moment with each of them.

She treasured every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, finding joy in their laughter, their milestones, and the love they shared. Her legacy continues through her son Enrique Gonzalez, her daughter Rocio Gonzalez and son Joseph Poindexter as well as her grandchildren Corrine Giacona, Richard Gonzalez, Lucita Gonzalez, Ray Estrada, Dominic Estrada, Vanessa Gonzales - Chittum, Veronica Gonzales Keen, Christian Poindexter, Helena Poindexter - Dellos, and Chloe Poindexter along with thirteen great grandchildren who brought her endless happiness.

Bertha had a passion for sewing and stitching as well as loved gardening and took great pride in both. She found joy in cooking and baking for others when she could in her younger years and always loved a house full of people, music and flowers.

She worked tirelessly for over 40 years as an office manager, a housekeeper as well as a caretaker for the elderly.

As we celebrate Bertha's life, we honor her enduring fiery spirit, and her deep love for family. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed.

“A Celebration of Life” service in her honor will be held Sunday, June 8th, 2025 (2-5pm) @ Rancho Carlsbad (The Card Room) 5200 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, Ca 92010
