Bruce Horace Warren

Bruce Horace Warren was born in South Lyon, Michigan, and grew up in nearby Howell, Michigan with his parents and five siblings. He attended Howell High School and earned a degree in Landscape Architecture from Michigan State University. After serving with the Army in Germany, he worked briefly with the planning department in Davenport, Iowa and then moved to Chula Vista where he met and married Marian. Bruce and Marian had two children, Tim and Natalie, both of whom were baptized at St. Paul’s, and the family remained active members of the church throughout their time in San Diego.

Bruce worked in the land use and planning industry in San Diego County throughout his career and had a substantial impact on the growth and development of the region. He was an active contributor to the community and was involved in the Stephen’s Ministry at St. Pauls, was a reader for the visually impaired with KPBS, and was a supporter of the San Diego Zoo, the San Diego LGBT Community Center, the Balboa Theater Foundation & Organ Society and the San Diego Performing Arts League. He also enjoyed traveling and always looked forward to spending time with his children and grandchildren, Nicholas and Chloe. When at home, however, he was completely devoted to his cat and longtime companion, Moose.
