Carol Anne Dewhurst



After fighting a brain tumor since 1993, Carol A. Dewhurst, of Tacoma Wa. passed away on March 27th 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma Wa. of a septic infection.


Carol was born in Buffalo N.Y. on October 15th 1951 to the late Adam Dickey and Jean Pepper.


  Carol married Jon Williams of Buffalo N.Y. May of 1974. They resided in Buffalo N.Y., later moving to Wyoming. Jon and Carol welcomed two kids in to the world, Joshua in Nov. 1977 and  Amanda in March 1979. Jon and Carol later divorced.


  Carol graduated from the University Of Wyoming and received a Bachelors of Social Work in 1996 and a Masters of Social Work in 1999. Carol then moved to Seattle Washington and worked as a Clinical Social Worker at Leon Sullivan Health Care Center. Carol, then took a position with Navos Mental Health Solutions as a Clinical Social Worker/ Intern Supervisor. Carol loved being a social worker. She loved getting to meet so many wonderful people through her job, they all had a place in her heart. Carol was a wonderful, caring woman with a heart of gold.


  Carol is survived by her Brother Mike Dickey and his wife Rose Dickey of Florida. Two nieces, Ashley and Amber of New York, son Joshua Williams and wife Rene of Bossier City LA , daughter Amanda Apodaca and husband Eddie of Katy TX,  grandchildren Kegen and Patrick Williams, and Kearstin, Quentin and Cadence Apodaca, boyfriend Joel McCluskey of Tacoma Wa.,  her sweet dog Maggie and  numerous friends who will miss her vibrant personality and her sense of humor.


  A private Celebration of Life service was held at Carol's long time friend  Joy's house. 


  Smart Cremation is handling the cremation.


  We will be spreading Carol's ashes in Wyoming at a later date.
