Carol Ann Sheridan

Carol Ann Sheridan, affectionately known to many as "Grammy," was born on March 1, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York. She left this world on February 5, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and countless cherished memories.

Throughout her life, Carol embodied the spirit of adventure. A lifelong teacher and founder of The Learning Connection, she dedicated herself to helping students navigate the challenges of study skills, SAT prep, college preparation, and time management. Her passion for education and her dedication to children with special needs earned her recognition as the March of Dimes Mother of the Year and President of the Spina Bifida Association, reflecting her unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of those around her.

Carol was a well-accomplished equestrian carousel rider, kite flyer, roller skater, and lifelong beach lover. She delighted in watching the sun set over the ocean, a sight that mirrored the warmth she brought to every gathering. Known affectionately as "the Mayor" in multiple circles, Carol never met a stranger. Her welcoming spirit, fun-loving nature, and kind heart made her a beacon of light for family, friends, and acquaintances alike.

She had a special gift for bringing people together, always eager to lend a helping hand and share joy through her infectious laughter. Whether spending time with her family or engaging in her hobbies, Carol's zest for life was truly remarkable. She always cherished the moments spent with loved ones, and her home was a sanctuary full of warmth and laughter.

Carol is survived by her loving children: Karin Buchholz, William Buchholz, Barbara Buchholz, and Paul Buchholz. She was blessed to have strong bonds with her daughters-in-law, Judy Buchholz and Noemi Buchholz. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Annaliese Rixse, Katherine Buchholz, Amanda Snyder, Angela Buchholz, Parker Buchholz, and Trevor Buchholz. David Snyder, her grandson-in-law, also carries forward her spirit of love and unity. Carol also leaves behind her dear brother, Daniel Merrill, sister-in-law, Kathleen Merrill, and her nephew, David Merrill, who will deeply miss her warmth and wisdom.

Though she is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Agnes Merrill, Carol's spirit remains alive in the hearts she touched. Carol passed peacefully in her sleep, and we find solace in knowing that she awoke in heaven, embracing the boundless joy and love that she so freely gave during her time on Earth.

As we celebrate her life, we hold tight to the many cherished moments and the lessons she imparted to us. Carol Ann Sheridan will forever be remembered not just as a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, but as an extraordinary woman who embraced life with open arms and a loving heart. Her legacy of kindness, adventure, and caring will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
