Cecil "Jake" Norman Jacobson, 92, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018. Born July 5, 1925 in Kelso, Washington, he was the son of Jacob C. and Clara Spilde Jacobson.
Jake attended Kelso High School, and then served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He served as an Airman First Class and received two honors: National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He later worked as a mechanical engineer, fisherman, and prior to retirement as an Alcohol Anonymous counselor. After retiring he moved to Randle, Washington to do what he loved best- fishing! When not fishing he was an active volunteer at the Packwood Senior Center.
He has had the nickname of Jake since his school days because he believed "Cecil" was considered a sissy name. He was known for his quirky sense of humor and outgoing personality. He loved to be on the go and spend time with his family.
Loved ones that will miss Jake until they meet again are his ex-wife and friend Pearl Hunnicutt-Jacobson; his son James Jacobson; his son Curtis Jacobson and his wife Sandy; his daughter Valerie Jacobson-Staten and her husband Jay; his daughter Muriel Jacobson-Liedes and her husband Keith; his grandchildren Heidi Jacobson, Jacob Jacobson, Chris Jacobson, Joshua Staten, Brittany Staten, Jennifer Liedes, and Joel Liedes; and his great grandchild Audrey Staten.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 1 at 3:00pm at Tahoma National Cemetery.
