Chuck Streng was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1937 the first son and second child of Anna and Melber Streng. He always joked that he left Cincinnati as soon as he had bus fare.He joined the Air Force in 1956 for four years and began his adventurous life: Wyoming, Colorado, Alice Springs, Australia where he met his future wife. After marrying in Adelaide in 1960 he moved his family to California in 1965 where he worked at Fairchild with semiconductors for two years. Recruited by Philco Ford he happily tracked satellites and managed tracking stations for the next 30 years: Guam, Australia, Guam, Santa Clara, Greenland, Seychelles, Vandenberg, Hawaii, and back to Vandenberg where he retired before we moved to our new home in Arroyo Grande.As Commodore of the Marianas Yacht Club he was honored with a Life Membership. Active in Scouting he spent time with his sons, helped others by volunteering in Consumer Mediation and Search and Rescue, and he enjoyed golfing with the RAMS.Chuck is survived by Pat, his wife of 52 years, three sons Steve, Andrew and Eric, two daughters-in-law Diann and Linda, grand-son David, two sisters, Barbara Ann (Ray), Marlene (Jerry) and brother David (Mary).Chuck'?s family would like to thank all his friends who have offered food, thoughts, prayers, and condolences. The kindness, cheerfulness and generosity of Chuck Streng will never be forgotten.
