In Loving Memory of Charlotte La Vonne Newman (Dahlke)

April 24, 1943 - March 24, 2026

Charlotte La Vonne Newman passed away in Vero Beach, Florida, on March 24, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on April 24, 1943, Charlotte lived in several places throughout Wisconsin and Florida, and through the years, both became home to her.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, Richard Newman; her children, Shirley Robel (Brian), Theodore Newman (Christina), Lynn Stokes, and Angela Cearley (Calvin); her grandchildren, Alexis and Evan, who were a special and constant presence in her life, as well as Lynn III, Brandon, Jessica, Justin, and Jacob; her sisters, Gloria Dickenson (Charles), Valerie Landmark (Merle), and Maureen Dickenson; and extended family who will carry her memory with them. She was preceded in death by her parents and both of her brothers.

Charlotte was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and stepmother. While she did not pursue a traditional career, she dedicated her life to raising her family, giving of herself endlessly to those she loved. Her greatest joy was being a mother, and she poured her heart into her children and grandchildren.

She was deeply empathetic and incredibly selfless, loving with her whole heart. She felt everything deeply, often moved to tears by the smallest moments, reflecting the depth of her compassion and the love she carried for others.

Her life was not without its challenges, but through it all, her love never wavered. She showed up for her family in the ways that mattered most, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Charlotte’s legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely and the bonds she created. Those closest to her will carry that love with them always, a love so true it will stand the test of time, and a reminder of a woman who stood by their side through it all.

Her daughter, Angela, will forever hold close the words they shared throughout their lives:

“Love you forever and ever, for the rest of my life, until I die.”
