Christina Smith, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on March 30, 2024, in Sun City West, AZ. She was born on May 27, 1926, in Ft. Pierce, FL. Christina led a life filled with love, laughter and dedicated service to others.
In her professional life, Christina found her calling in volunteering. Once her own children were grown, she devoted herself to various charitable endeavors. From serving at St. Martin's church in the Altar Guild to teaching Sunday school and assisting at the Credit Union. Christina's kindness knew no bounds. Her commitment to helping others eventually led her to the Episcopal Church Center in mid Manhattan until her retirement in 2000.
Those who knew Christina will remember her for her exceptional warmth, unwavering friendship extended to all, sharp witty banter and her love for travel both within the US and beyond. As an only child herself, she created a vast family of children around her and took immense joy in being Nana to five generations of descendants.
Christina is now reunited with her loving husband, William F. Smith as they watch over their family from above. She is survived by her children Cheryl, Maria, and Philip; grandchildren Christopher, Asia and Justin; great-grandchildren Hazel (Kema), Christine, and Skye; as well as great-great-grandchildren Layla and Lauren. The legacy of love and compassion that Christina leaves behind will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Christina will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, bold and generous person who made a difference in the lives of so many. Her legacy of love and service will live on through her family. Her life was a testament of power to the human spirit and her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift us all.
