Jean

November 13, 1933 — January 27, 2024

McMinnville

Shortly after midnight on Saturday, January 27, 2024, Clara "Jean" Olson peacefully went Home to be with Jesus. Jean was 90 years old. She lived independently and was relatively healthy until the final month of her life when she was hospitalized with a congestive heart failure flare-up, followed by RSV and then pneumonia. After spending 13 days in the hospital, she went to a rehabilitation facility where she began physical therapy to regain her strength. She was there for 10 days. On January 21st she was hospitalized once again; this time with severe pneumonia. Her heart's desire was to see Jesus.

Jean was born in the township of Pleasant, Iowa in Union County to William Walter and Clara Belle Moore on November 13, 1933. In 1941 Jean's family moved to Parrett Mountain in Newberg, Oregon.

She really looked forward to celebrating her 90th birthday last November! The one thing she wanted to do was go on a walk at Rock of Ages, a retirement community located a few miles outside of McMinnville. She wanted to walk their 3/4 mile walking loop with her children. She was able to do that with 3 of her 4 children (as one was working out of town). There was also a nice celebration held in her honor with many friends and family members in attendance.

Jean enjoyed walking, reading, working word find puzzle books, playing puzzle computer games, watching Seattle Mariners baseball & Portland Trail Blazers basketball, and she really enjoyed going to church on Sunday mornings. Even though it has been very difficult for her to walk on the sand for many years, she always enjoyed trips to the beach either for an overnight stay with an ocean view or just for a day trip to have lunch usually at Mo's for a bowl of clam chowder.

Being the mother of 5 children, grandmother of 13 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 30 great-grandchildren, she loved being with her family any opportunity she had. Summertime picnics, birthday parties, holiday celebrations or just one on one visits always made her happy.

Jean is preceded in death by both of her parents, brother Jim Moore, sister Reta Dixon, sister Linda Kibler and son Stan Beaudry. She is survived by her oldest brother Dean Moore, youngest sister Debra Moore, 4 of her children: Gary Beaudry, Rick Beaudry, Larry Beaudry and Joyce Jones as well as all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

There will be a public celebration of Jean's life on Saturday, February 24th at 1 PM at Chehalem Valley Baptist Church located at 26155 NE Bell Road, Newberg, Oregon.
