Clarence Dale Fields

Clarence Dale Fields, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 12, 2025, in Hemet, California, into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born on June 12, 1934, in Fredonia, Kansas, Clarence lived a life rich with love, family, and faith.

Clarence's early years were spent on the family farm outside of Fredonia, where he cultivated a deep appreciation for hard work and the beauty of rural life until he was 16 years old. Following this, he began a remarkable career as a long-haul truck driver that spanned over 56 years. His journey on the open road took him over 4.2 million miles—an extraordinary feat that exemplified his dedication to his work. His exceptional skills did not go unnoticed, as he received numerous awards throughout his career, including a memorable all-expense-paid trip to Florida and a Caribbean cruise, a testament to the impact he made in the trucking community.

Though much of his life was spent on the road, Clarence cherished the moments spent with family and friends during vacations, traveling across many states to reconnect with loved ones. Family gatherings were a special time for him, especially when they involved donuts and coffee, highlighting his warm and inviting nature. Known for his kindness, Clarence welcomed everyone into his life, always ready with a smile and a good joke, bringing laughter to those around him.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Clarence found joy in his home workshop, where he dedicated time to building and painting crafts for both his home and church. This creative outlet not only showcased his talent but also underscored his commitment to his community and his faith.

One of Clarence's proudest accomplishments was the decision he made at the tender age of 8 to invite Jesus Christ into his heart at the First Baptist Church in Fredonia. This pivotal moment set him on a lifelong journey of service to God, leading him to contribute significantly to his church as a leader in the Bus Ministry and as a Deacon and Trustee. His unwavering faith was a guiding force in his life, shaping his values and character.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 71 years, Patricia Dalton Fields, and their four sons: Lonnie Eugene, Bruce Lynne, Randall Wyane, and Samuel William, along with their wives and sister Mary Ellen. He was also the proud patriarch of numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives were enriched by his wisdom and affection.

Clarence is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Loren and Bessie Fields, as well as his brother Bill and sisters Lorena and Letta, who undoubtedly awaited him with open arms. As we celebrate the remarkable life of Clarence Dale Fields, we honor his legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith that will continue to live
