Connie Jo Vizina

Connie Jo Vizina (née Garrison), 69, of Alvin, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, and went home to be with her Father in Heaven.

She was born September 24, 1956, in Cassville, Missouri, to Coy Orville Garrison and Alice Joan Rodewald.

Connie spent her working life with a head for numbers and a hand in the business. She and her husband, Alex Elies, owned and operated Community Publications together. She went on to serve several years as president of the Alvin-Manvel Chamber of Commerce, and later worked as a bookkeeper at Temple Aviation.

To her three children she was Mom and Mama. To her eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, she was Mimi, and that was the name that stuck to her.

She is survived by her children, Brandon Stubblefield of Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin; Tiffany Elies of Alvin, Texas; and Jeremy "Jay" Stubblefield of Humble, Texas; her stepson, Paul Elies of Santa Fe, Texas; her grandchildren, Justyce, Jeremiah, Jayden, Joshua, Jordyn, Jaxon, Raylie, and Nathan; her great-grandchildren, Bradley and Alexander; her brother, Dennis Moss of Nixa, Missouri; her sister, Carla Huntington of Nixa, Missouri; and her beloved dog, Roxy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Elies, and her parents.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.
