Cynthia Jeanne Brasch

Cynthia Jeanne Brasch, 67, of Bellingham, Washington, passed peacefully at her home on September 1, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank Gutierrez and Celia (Cordova) Gutierrez. Cynthia is remembered by her husband, Robert of Bellingham; brothers: Frank Raymond Gutierrez; Ronald Gutierrez (Leticia); sister: Carmen Gutierrez; all of San Diego, California; sisters: Theresa Everling; James Everling (dec) of Selmer, Tennessee; Charletta Frances Loucopoulos (Constantine) of Chicago, Illinois; Hope Lovato (dec) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, along with a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her many dear friends.

Cynthia was born on February 19, 1958 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and raised with her family in San Diego, California, where she enjoyed spending free time with friends and family on the warm, sunny beaches.

Cynthia was a graduate of James Madison High School and attended Mesa College, in San Diego. She developed a passion for several art mediums and studied at the Oakland Art Institute of California, where she graduated with a degree in fine arts.

During her working years, Cynthia took on a number of positions that suited her including theater worker (where she met her future husband, Robert), concert venue worker, eyeglass lab worker, teacher, nanny, freelance painter and ceramics artist. Cynthia was very giving of her artwork. She painted many portraits of family and friends in a style all her own and recipients were thrilled with the finished pieces, most of which are still in possession of their owners.

Among Cynthia‘s interests were art, crafting, music, reading, ancestry research, Scrabble, anything in her favorite color: purple, and spending time with her amazing dog, Rollie! We remember Cynthia for her kindness, creative artistry, sense of humor, and as a wonderfully caring and loving lady who was always so supportive and there for us. We are eternally grateful for all the joy that she brought to us! We will love you forever, Cynthia!
