Darlene Mae Gerhart

Darlene, 83, died on February 13, 2018 and joined "Daddy and Jesus" in heaven. Darlene was born on July 14, 1935 in Decatur IL. She moved to AZ at 10 years old with her parents David and Jesse McDaniel. She was married in 1954 to David Gerhart. They lived in Tucson, AZ where Darlene worked for Roy H. Long Realty for many years. In 1982, she and David relocated to Mesa, Arizona. At that time, Darlene created Gerhart and Associates. She and her team specialized in insurance agency accounting. Darlene loved her work and many of those who worked with her became family to her. Darlene, along with her husband David were members of Trinity Church of Mesa where they dedicated their time, resources and talents to the church. Darlene is survived by her daughters Joyce Kahn (David), Deanna Baranowsky (Bob), Grandchildren, Eric Baranowsky, (Jennifer) Kimberly Jarman, (Jamie) Jamie Joiner, (Josh) Christy Baranowsky, (Jason) Danny Baranowsky, (Kim) and Andy Baranowsky (Genna). The little joys of her life - her great grandchildren, Rae, Liam, Aidan, Kailee, Maddox, Anthony, Audrey, and Kaiden will all miss their Grandma Hart. The list of people that Darlene and David "adopted" as family is enormous. In 1990, Ming and Luna Lee became part of the Gerhart family and in 1993 Darlene welcomed as her own granddaughter Michelle Lee who was followed 5 years later by her sister Leslie. In Darlene's heart, they were true family. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents David and Jessie McDaniel, and her sister "Little" Joyce, and her husband David Gerhart.
