David Lee Albright

David Lee Albright,  known by his friends as Dave and by his grandkids as Papa David was born in Aurora Illinois and passed away peacefully at the age of 87 in Stockton Missouri.

Dave's career began at the Burlington Northern Railroad in Aurora, Illinois, after 15 years of dedicated service he transitioned to dairy farming in Wisconsin, a pursuit he devoted himself to for 18 years. Longing for warmer a climate, he moved to Missouri, where he enjoyed a diverse career as a self-employed individual, engaging in catering, power washing, and camp hosting across the country until his retirement in 2021. His work ethic was a testament to his values of hard work and respect for others.

A man of strong faith, Dave may not have attended church every Sunday, but he was indeed a godly man who instilled in his family robust values centered around family, hard work, and mutual respect. His love for family was evident during cherished gatherings, especially picnics and cookouts where he took pride in being the grill chef, and notably, he was the official turkey stuffer during Thanksgiving celebrations. These moments were accompanied by a tradition of saying prayer before meals, a practice he continued even after his children had left home.

Dave is remembered fondly for his warm smile and boisterous laughter. His family will cherish the memories of fishing trips with their dad and grandpa in Wisconson at Uncle Clearances. He took immense pride in his family, often speaking glowingly about the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, who he regarded as his biggest and proudest achievement.

He is survived by his devoted wife Martha, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years. He leaves behind three sons: Kevin (Barbara) of Florida, Scott of Kentucky, and Mark (Jennifer) of Georgia, as well as two daughters, Michele (Mike) Eggars of Pennsylvania and Regina (Ervin) Scharff of Missouri. Dave took joy in his role as a grandfather to 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, creating a legacy of love and family that will endure.

He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Marguerite; his brothers Robert (Rose) of West Virginia and Richard (June) of Illinois; his sister Sandy (Bob) Walter of Illinois; his daughter Katherine (Mike) Curry of Missouri; and his daughter-in-law Susie Danyell Blackwell Albright of Kentucky.

David Lee Albright's life was one of hard work, family devotion, and unwavering faith. His spirit will continue to light the lives of those he touched, as they hold onto cherished memories and the love he shared.

Celebrations will be held in Batavia Illinois on Saturday March 29th at 11:00 a.m. at the Peg Bond Center 151 N Island Ave, Batavia IL 60510.
