David was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Shelton Beardsley and Allie Beardsley. He is survived by his wife, Arline Beardsley, of 55 years. Their daughters are Kerri Eikenberg and Kimberly Wright. Grandsons are Vincent Eikenberg and Owen Wright. Granddaughters are Tina Eikenberg and Addison Wright. David is also survived by his sisters, Pam Powell, Virginia Schrader, Joyce Beardsley, and Linda Karow. His other sister, Altrice Walden, passed away in 2019.
David grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and he graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He began his career with Hewlett Packard in California. He accepted a position with General Electric in sales and marketing with moves to Waynesboro, Virginia; Detroit, Michigan; Atlanta, Georgia and Naperville, Illinois. He also worked for Televideo and Combinet in Silicon Valley, California. He then worked for Cisco Systems and retired in 1996 and moved to Brentwood, CA.
David loved music and had an incredible collection of records and CDs. He also loved sports, particularly tennis and football. As a young man he could spend a whole day playing tennis. One of his greatest skills was being able to talk to strangers. When his daughter got married and he was sent to the airport to pick up some guests, he almost took home the wrong family. The family from Sweden was quite overwhelmed with his American hospitality.
David loved his retirement in Brentwood and enjoyed many friendships in the community.
There will be a Celebration of Life for him on April 22, 2023.
