David (Buzz) Rodseth 7/23/1939-8/16/2013

David (Buzz) Rodseth was born in Detroit Lakes, MN, on July 23rd, 1939, to Peggie (Haagenson) and Roy Rodseth. He moved out west in 1946 and returned to Detroit Lakes in 1957 to attend his senior year in high school. Buzz married Brenda Bjornstad in 1960. He worked for and learned the machinist trade from his uncle, Marvin Haagenson. He returned to Spokane in 1962 where he owned and operated an auto parts store, recreational businesses and an automotive machine & engine remanufacturing plant. He enjoyed racing anything with a motor, including snowmobiles-they were his passion. After Brenda passed away, Buzz married Bernadine in 1989. He retired in 1997 and they moved to Detroit Lakes where they built a new home and purchased a marina. They operated it for 3 years until Buzz’s health forced him back into retirement. Buzz & Bernie moved back to Spokane in 2012.
Buzz loved and is survived by his wife Bernie, his daughters Lori McCallister, Nikki (Don) Myers, his stepdaughter Robin (Mike) Albrandt, stepson Scott (Jan) Booth and brothers Tom (Carol) Herrmann and John Herrmann. He had seven grandchildren-Cody McCallister, Taylor (Chandler) Shuff, Baynton Myers, Brendon Myers, Zack (Katie) Booth, Andrea Booth and Molly (Justin) Hanson, one great granddaughter, Kloe Booth and numerous nieces and nephews . He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Brenda, and his sister, Patricia Ferrin.
The family would like to thank Hospice and his nurse, Medina, for the wonderful care and suggest that memorials be sent to Hospice of Spokane or the charity of their choice.
Memorial service will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church (24th & Grand) on Friday, August 23rd at 2pm.
