Dave was the second child born to Lloyd & Evelyn Cadwell Taylor on September 30, 1937 in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. He peacefully entered the arms of Jesus on Sunday, September 29, 2019 in Tacoma, Washington.
Dave was raised on a ranch in Eastern Montana. At age 18, he went to Miles City, MT and enlisted in the US Army. Trained as a quartermaster, Dave was sent to Panama for the next 30 months. Upon discharge he returned to Miles City where he met Donna Thymian, whom he married in 1960. They had three children: son, Darwin and daughters Debra and Danette. In October 1961, he was called back to the Army when the Berlin wall closed. The family moved to Ft. Lewis, WA. In February 1962, Dave was released from the Army and the family returned to Miles City. The family moved to Bonney Lake, WA in 1968, where he resided until his death.
Dave was a long haul truck driver for many years, hauling cattle, cement, frozen foods in Montana and frozen foods and produce up and down the west coast. In 1977, Dave went to work at Ft. Lewis as a mechanic on military trucks. He also joined the Army Reserves that year, later changing to the National Guard, where he became a motor sergeant in the attack helicopter unit. He came within hours of being sent to Iraq for the invasion in 1990. Dave retired from the Guard in 1995 and from civil service in 1997. Upon retirement, Dave and Donna started D&D Janitorial Services, cleaning various offices and their home church for many years.
Dave accepted Jesus Christ as his savior in 1965. He was a member of the Puyallup Community Baptist Church for over 50 years where he and Donna have served faithfully.
