Dean Patrick Jordan

Dean Patrick Jordan unexpectedly passed away April 29, 2026 at Bethesda Hospital East in Boynton Beach, FL, while receiving care for an unrelated medical condition. Dean, just 56 years old when he departed this life, was born June 3, 1969 to Maggie Schultz (née Moscatelli) and John Walker Jordan III of Maple Shade, NJ.

Dean excelled at telling absolutely absurd, but comically true towing tales, never losing a game of checkers without purpose and gusto, living his very own curated maximalist lifestyle, all while doing his part to save the world by rescuing strays and fostering homeless animals. His signature everyday look was all his, consistently consisting of short sleeve button down camp shirts, usually paired with complimentarily comfortable shorts and famously lace-less footwear.

Long before meeting his wife of 30 years, Helen Russell, Dean’s greatest passions were helping others and driving tow trucks. He devoted himself to emergency response as a volunteer member of the local emergency management organization, eventually serving as chief engineer for a highly specialized rescue and recovery unit. He simultaneously built a successful career in towing and recovery, ultimately owning his own towing business in Maple Shade, NJ, before leaving behind the Jersey snow and relocating to Boynton Beach, FL.

After arriving in the sunshine state, Dean quickly became a respected member of the Palm Beach County towing community. He was known not only for his professionalism and work ethic, but also for his generosity and willingness to help others. He proudly supported a number of charitable efforts, including the local “Towing for Tots” program. Dean was always ready to lend a hand wherever needed.

Perhaps Dean’s greatest blessing was meeting his perfect match, Helen Russell, originally of Hope Town, Abaco, Bahamas. Dean and Helen spent the last 30 years faithfully beside one another, loving and supporting each other through both celebrations and hardships. What now seems like a brief courtship, their relationship became a lifelong partnership filled with devotion and unwavering support for each other. Together, Dean and Helen shared a deep love for rescuing and fostering animals, dedicating countless years to caring for strays and giving homeless animals a safe and loving home.

Dean will always be remembered for his enormous heart, his unique sense of humor, his generosity and loyalty to family and friends, and the unforgettable presence he brought wherever he went.

Dean is survived by his wife, Helen Russell Jordan; his mother Maggie Schultz, his brothers John (Amy) Jordan and Paul (Theresa Nettles) Jordan, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

A Celebration of Life for Dean will be held on June 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the home of his brother, Paul Jordan. Please use this link for directions: https://maps.app.goo.gl/N7daLHvme4c2upB36
