Delbert Ray Till

Delbert Ray Till of Rancho Cordova Ca. beloved husband, father, son, brother and grandfather, after a fight with diabetes and heart trouble, passed away on June 12, 2009. He was born to Jewel and Marie Till on December 1, 1945 in Fresno Ca. He attended college at California State University, Fresno studying architecture. He married Sherilyn Jean Arnold on June 18, 1966. He worked as a draftsman in Fresno before working for Libby, McNeil, and Libby cannery. In 1970 he moved to Rancho Cordova, Ca. where he continued his employment with the cannery at the olive fermenting plant located on Folsom Blvd.(the Historic Nimbus Winery building). In his late twenties he made a career change where he began working at Harold's Plumbing and Electrical Supply in Sacramento, and eventually became a Co-Owner of the Franklin Blvd. Location. When Harold's closed its door's he started work at Hollywood Hardware located in West Sacramento until he became too ill to work. For his entire adult life he was a Foster Parent and selflessly gave his love to more than 70 children who had no real home. Over the years he and his wife adopted a total of nine children. He loved to barbecue on weekends and holidays. He also enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing and was involved in Cub Scouts, Webelos and the Rancho Cordova Citizen Band Radio Club. He is survived by his wife, of 42 years, Sherilyn and their 6 son's; John, Dale, Kevin and his wife Petra, Develyn and his wife Raichel , Eric and Joel as well as their three daughter's; Desiree and her husband Dennis, Heather and Shannon and numerous grandchildren. He was also survived by his mother Marie, two sisters Jewel-Dawn and Clydie, and was preceded in death by his father Jewel Ray Till. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 23, 2009 at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church located at 10497 Coloma Rd. in Rancho Cordova Ca. In lieu of flowers, a small donation to the family or church would be preferred.
