Develle (Dee) Anne Brooks

Develle Anne Brooks graced this world on July 29, 1943, to Isom and Louise Martin, and she was the youngest of 8 children. She grew up in an environment filled with love and support. After graduating from John Adams High School, she pursued her education at Kent State. Her marriage to Donald Brooks on August 31, 1963, marked the beginning of a beautiful journey as they welcomed their sons, Bacardi in December of that year and another son in July 1965. Develle found immense joy in being a mother. Develle embarked on her professional career as an educator in Cleveland and later moved to California in the summer of 1972 with her family. Her commitment to excellence led her to serve as a personal assistant to the renowned actor and comedian, Steve Allen. After years of dedicated service, she retired from IBM. Develle was a remarkable daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and surrogate to many. Her heart and door were always open, and she cherished the time spent with family, good friends, good music, stylish footwear, and the thrill of an occasional win on the slot machine. The passing of her father, Isom, and her dear mother, Louise Harmon, as well as her siblings Ola May, John Lee, Grover Cleveland (GC), and her beloved nephew, Grover Cleveland Craig (Nucci), preceded Develle's journey to eternity. She is survived by her husband, Donald Brooks, her sons Bacardi Brooks (RaeNee), Autumn, and Aurora, and Nick Brooks (Katie), Arianna, Jaden, and Nico. Develle is also survived by her sisters, Estella Brantley of Cleveland, OH, and Dorothy (Small) Spaulding (Bernard) of Indio, CA. And Nuccis’ children Kristina, Niko and Cody, left in love.
