Diana Rae Munro, born January 14, 1946, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Monday, August 10, 2026 in Des Moines, WA. She will be remembered for her good sense of humor, her love of family, and the many things that brought her joy throughout her life.

Diana grew up in South Seattle, where she developed a lifelong love of animals. In her younger years, she enjoyed an active, social life. These early interests reflected the energy and joy she carried throughout her life.

Diana loved bowling and golf and enjoyed both for many years. She also had a creative side, crocheting beautiful doilies, painting with Artex, and enjoying canning with her family.

She especially loved gathering around the table with family to play Yahtzee, cribbage, and cards. These moments brought plenty of laughter, friendly competition, and memories her family will always treasure.

Diana also loved a good adventure. In her younger years, she enjoyed trips to Reno, and later in life she continued to enjoy visiting casinos. Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn and Talking Stick Casino in Scottsdale were among her favorites.

Diana was not one to make a quick trip to the casino. One family story that will surely be told for years to come is the time she gambled for an incredible 37½ hours at Tulalip Casino with her son-in-law, Dan. That story says so much about Diana—she knew how to have fun and always kept everyone entertained.

Her love of animals remained constant throughout her life. She owned a pet store for several years and later helped her daughter Phyllis with her own pet store. Her compassion for animals was a defining part of who she was.

Diana was first married to Carlo Troiani, and together they had a son, William Walter Troiani (Bill), who is married to Jennifer. Bill has a daughter, Melanie Therese , who is the mother of three children: Thomas, Aurora, and Adelina.

Diana later married Ferré LaFaun Sprinkel, and together they had two daughters, Faunna Lea Sprinkel and Phyllis Marie Sprinkel.

Faunna is married to Daniel Bartlett, and they have two daughters, Courtney and Stephanie.

Phyllis is married to Michael Oravits. Her children include Jon-Michael, who has a daughter, Kaiah; RaeAnna; and Monte, who has a daughter, Blondelle.

Diana’s family continued to grow through the generations, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were an important part of her life and legacy.

She is survived by her siblings, Michael Thomas and his family; Terry Lewis and family; Jerri Proszek and her husband, Chuck, and their family; Michelle and her husband, Steve, and their family; and brother-in-law Richard Horner and his family.

Diana was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Munro; her parents, Robert Joseph and Phyllis Rae Thomas; her brother Robert Thomas and his wife, Thuy; her sister Patricia Horner; and her sister-in-law Nanette Thomas.

Diana will be remembered not only as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, but as a woman who truly knew how to enjoy life. She loved golf, the Mariners, casinos, animals, games, and most of all, the people she loved.

Her wonderful sense of humor and the stories she created along the way will remain part of her family’s memories for generations. Her family will carry her memory forward through the traditions she passed down, the games they played together, the stories they share, and the laughter she brought into their lives.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
