Dinah Diaz Garcia, of Brownsville, TX, went to be with the Lord.

Dinah was born in Garciasville,TX. to her adoring parents, Julio and Herminia Diaz. Her earlier years were spent growing up in Rio Grande City, Tx but then her high school years were spent in San Juan, Tx. It was there that, through mutual friends, she met Beto Garcia, who was destined to become the love of her life. On September 29, 1956, she married Beto and devoted her life to him and subsequently to their daughters Lenora (Petunia) and Lorena who were her pride and joy.

Later in her life, Dinah worked as a classroom assistant with BISD dedicating herself to teachers and children in the area of early childhood. She was a strong advocate for children in need and worked diligently to see that her efforts supported a quality education for the children in her classroom. Ever the bright spot in the school setting, she was joyful, loving and outgoing. Dinah was a strong woman of Faith who lived her life according to God’s will. 

She is preceded in death by her father, Julio Diaz☩, her mother Herminia Diaz ☩, her husband Humberto Garcia ☩, her sister Dora Box ☩,and brothers Eduardo Diaz ☩ and Omar Diaz ☩.

Dinah is survived by her daughters Lenora Alicia Diaz-Garcia and Lorena Ada Guerra (Xavier) . She is also survived by her grandson Joel Francisco Guerra and god daughters Magdalena Godinez, Johanna Weir Flores and Rebecca Garza.
