Dionicio R Lopez

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a cherished soul, Dionicio Lopez Jr., lovingly known as Leo. On this solemn day of February 6th, 2024, we remember and celebrate the remarkable life he lived.

Leo was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Dionicio Lopez Sr. and Leonor Lopez, as well as his dear sister, Maria Grace Lowe. The profound impact he had on the lives he touched will forever be cherished.

Leo is survived by his loving brother Richard Lopez and his wife Deborah. He also left behind nephews Michael Lowe and Leyland Lowe, who held a special place in his heart. Though Leo's journey here on earth has come to an end, the love and memories he shared with family and friends will continue to live on.

Leo's life was rich with precious moments and treasured connections. He was married to Sylvia Govea for 25 years, but their friendship spanned a remarkable 50 years. Although they were divorced, Leo remained a beloved member of Sylvia's family. Her parents, Robert and Socorro Govea, cherished Leo as if he were their own son. Sylvia's sisters Hilda Longoria and Sonya Govea also held him dear in their hearts.

One of Leo's greatest joys in life was indulging in his passion for reading. He found solace between the pages of countless books, allowing his imagination to take flight. Additionally, photography held a special place in Leo's heart, an interest he shared with Sylvia's father. Together, they pursued this artistic endeavor and captured memories that will forever be treasured.

Throughout their marriage, Leo and Sylvia embarked on countless road trips with her parents and sister. These adventures created memories that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

In his final years, Leo faced health challenges, undergoing dialysis as his health began to decline. Despite the hardships he endured, Leo carried a resilient spirit, never complaining and finding joy in the simplest of moments. He spent his last days under Sylvia's loving care, surrounded by the comforts of home and the companionship of his loyal canine friend, Teddy.

As we bid farewell to our beloved Leo, let us honor the legacy he leaves behind – one of love, kindness, and unyielding strength. Though words cannot capture the entirety of Leo's being or fully express the depth of our grief, we can find solace in the knowledge that he graced our lives with his warm presence.
