Don S. Hollingsworth passed away on December 17, 2022. Don was born on March 2, 1936 in Mexico, Missouri to Mabel and William Hollingsworth. He lived in Missouri until 1959 then spent two years in the U.S. Army, serving one year in Korea. After being honorably discharged, he married Lois Hess of Paris, Missouri and started working as a machinist for Boeing, eventually settling in Seattle with their three sons. Don retired from Boeing after over 30 years of service and enjoyed woodworking, painting, and telling stories with family and friends.
Don is preceded in death by his parents and brother Clyde, and is survived by his partner Elsa Roces Daza, sons Harold, Michael (Marissa Saludes), and John E. (Jenny Mears). Don departed this world surrounded by family while listening to his favorite song, Johnny Cash's "Run Softly, Blue River."
A memorial service with full military honors will be held on March 2nd at 2pm at Tahoma National Cemetery followed by a gathering at his home. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to the Disabled American Veterans organization.
