Dorothy Garcia Harrison

Dorothy Harrison, 77, died December 8, 2016 at Kaiser Hospital in Redwood City, CA. She was born July 2nd, 1939 in San Francisco to Spanish immigrants Gonzalo and Maria Garcia. In 1961, Dorothy married Harvey Harrison and soon moved their growing family to Foster City, CA. After her children were grown, Dorothy began a professional career as an accountant for North West Administrators and enjoyed working there for 15 years.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harvey Harrison; two sons Michael (Lesley) Harrison of Foster City, Raymond (Colleen) Harrison of Sacramento; one daughter Laurie (Michael) Gilbert of Redwood City; seven grandchildren Alex, Kristina, Kevin, Lauren, Emily, Elizabeth and Abigail; two great grandchildren Harlie and Pryce.

She was preceded in death by her parents Gonzalo and Maria Garcia; and her brothers Lorenzo Garcia, Enrique Garcia and Lucio Garcia.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held 11:00am on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 1111 Beach Park Blvd., Foster City, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA, 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.
