Edwin L. OBrien age 85
Of Lynnwood, Wa
Passed away August 2nd, 2013 at the Evergreen Hospice Center in Kirkland, WA of a massive stroke.
He was born May 20th, 1928 to Lola and James OBrien in Snohomish, wa.
He was one of four siblings…. Sister Betty and Brothers Donald and James who have proceeded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Carol who he met on a blind date at the Naval Air Station in Sandpoint, Wa. They were married on December 2nd 1960 in a Methodist Church in Magnolia. They made their first home in Ballard ending up in Lynnwood for the past 46 years.
He graduated from Queen Ann High School in 1946.
He had a long career as a truck driver starting out at Western Cartiege. He then went to Inner City Auto Freight for roughly 15 years then going over to Fedderly Marion Cement from which he retired from in 1988.
In his earlier years he loved camping, fishing and riding motorcycles with his family and friends. He coached womens softball for 6 years. He also coached girls basketball for 2 years. He enjoyed traveling and playing golf with his wife in their retirement.
He was a member of the Fraternal order of the Eagles Aerie #13 for many years and also a member of the Moose and the American Legions clubs for a number of years.
He is survived by his four children, daughter Bonnie(Dennis) Fairbank of Chicago, son Jim(Missy) OBrien of Bothell, daughter Teri Norgaard of Mountlake Terrace, and son Bill(Babette) OBrien of Everett.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Tina, Marie, Nicole, Denise, Josh, Jessica, Johnny, Katrina, Shawn, AnnMarie, and Zach along with 12 great grandchildren.

Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Evergreen Hospice Center in Kirkland, WA. In remembrance of Edwin L. O’Brien.
He will be missed by all who loved and knew him
Services will be held at Floral Hills Cemetery in Lynnwood WA at 3:00 PM Sept. 20th.
