Elaine Marie Dickerson was born on January 26,1953, in Pineville, Louisiana, to Earl Brooks, Jr. and Jessie Jewel Brooks. She fell asleep in death on January 5, 2026, in her apartment in Phoenix, Arizona.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents Earl Brooks, Jr. and Jessie Jewel Brooks, her siblings: Gwendolyn Jewel Brooks, Earl Brooks III, Linda Brooks, Errol Brooks, Errolyn Brooks, and her son Kevin Brooks.

Elaine is survived by her husband Van Dickerson, Sr., her siblings: Earline Brooks Colbert, Gregory Brooks, Elvis Brooks, Aaron Brooks, Sedonia Alvera Brooks, Rhonda Brooks Magraff, her children: Yolanda Brooks, Kendrick Brooks, Keith Brooks, Manessta Beverly, & Van Dickerson, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

We look forward to seeing Elaine again when Acts 24:15 is fulfilled, which says:” And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of…the righteous....”
