Eleanor Jean Ghertner / Campbell/ Whipple Passed away on 02/04/13 at the age of 92, of complications arising from Alzheimer'?s/ Dementia.Born Eleanor Jean Whipple, in Missouri, she was the widow of James Kerr Campbell, and of Lester Ghertner. She is survived by a son, James Kerr Campbell, II, of San Jose, four grandchildren, Cherilynn Campbell, San Jose, Dianne Lee Chew, Saratoga, James Kerr Campbell, III, San Jose, and Donald Brian Campbell of Cookeville, Tenn, and seven great- grandchildren.Mrs. Ghertner worked for several years at Macy*s , California. After her marriage to Mr. Ghertner, the couple became heavily involved in the Santa Clara county Square Dancing community. Mrs. Ghertner was an accomplished seamstress, and, after several years of square dancing, started the Jubilee Square dance shop in Campbell, where she and her daughter-in-law, Charen Campbell, were responsible for making dresses they offered.Mrs. Ghertner was diagnosed with Alzheimer`s dementia in 2009, and died of complication arising from that condition. She requested no formal funeral, and will be interned in the family plot at the Santa Clara City Cemetery. The family requests no flowers, but donations to the Alzheimer`s Association would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Smart Cremation
