Elgie Gerry (85) passed away peacefully on Thursday July 16th, 2009 losing her final fight with cancer. Elgie was born in Vermont to Thomas & Maude Andrus April 21, 1924. After graduating high school she joined the U.S. Army as a WAC and served in WW11 in Karachi, India. After attending San Jose State she taught children with special needs. She was married to John Gerry in 1951 and they shared many years of love and laughter. She left the family with many mementos of her artistic talents. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, daughters Robyn Gerry Lesnewsky, Tricia Doyel & Joni Gerry. Son-in-Law Michael Lesnewsky, Grandsons Chris Doyel his wife Alicia, Erik Lesnewsky, & Granddaughter Shannon Ellis and her husband Rickey. Grandson Kyle Bradshaw, wife Lynne and great granddaughter Payton. As a one of 10 children she is survived by her brother Jim Andrus. Elgie was preceded in death by daughter Sharal Gerry and Son-in-Law Randy Bradshaw. The family celebrated her life in private. In lieu of flowers John Gerry has requested that donations be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. His daughter Joni is training for a marathon and raising funds for research in honor of her mother.
