Elizabeth “Betty” or "Liz" Jean Matranga (Pacheco) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on August 6, 2015 in Roseville, California.
A resident of Lincoln, California, Betty was born on March 5, 1939 in Hilo, Hawaii. Although her family relocated to the Sacramento area when Betty was a teenager, Betty’s heart always remained in her home state of Hawaii.
Betty loved dancing, teaching and art. She owned her own dance studio and taught Hula, ballet, jazz and tap to children for many years. She was also a talented artist and oil painter. Later in life, Betty went to college and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at California State University, Sacramento. As a credentialed teacher, she loved teaching English and Drama to middle school and high school children.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Lydia Pacheco. She is survived by her children, Deborah (John) Dafoe and Robert (Diana) Puccio, her brother Danny (Pat) Pacheco and her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was also a doting and loving grandmother to Brynn and Wyatt Dafoe.
Services for Betty will be held at a later date.
