Emilie Wyatt

Emilie Wyatt, a woman of quiet strength and unwavering love, departed this world on July 23, 2025. Born on December 31, 1935, in the humble surroundings of a family farm in Hawley, Texas, she was the youngest of twelve Simpson children. Her life was a tapestry woven from threads of generosity, faith, and an extraordinary devotion to her family and community.

For 56 years, Emilie cherished the role of a preacher’s wife, serving at eight locations across Texas and California. Her faith journey took her far, including three heartwarming years in Stockholm, Sweden, as a missionary with a group sent by Abilene Christian College. Throughout her life, Emilie embodied the spirit of service, never one to seek the spotlight, but rather to minister in quiet and meaningful ways. She found joy in bringing light to others, as evidenced by her community efforts in Midland, Texas, where she initiated a program that filled a red plastic ice cream bucket with supplies for manicures at a local nursing home, a modest effort that sparked a beautiful wave of involvement among friends and became an enduring part of the women's ministry.

Emilie was valedictorian of her senior class and then attended Abilene Christian College. Her professional journey was marked by entrepreneurship and dedication, co-owning the Garza County abstract company and the Andeb Land Services— named in honor of her two beloved daughters. Emilie’s love for her family blossomed into her proudest accomplishment: a vibrant gallery of photographs showcasing those she cherished. Indeed, her heart overflowed with the love for her children—Chris Wyatt (Nancy), Randell Wyatt (Susan), Deb Eubank (Greg), Barry Wyatt, and Anissa Deal (Mark)—her grandchildren, Jason Wyatt (Rachel), Scott Wyatt (Ally), Paden Wyatt (Monica), Hillary Barghini (Steve), Britt Wyatt, Clint Wyatt (Erin), Brittany Gonzales (Ramon), Abby Edwards (Justin), Katy Sisk (Ty), Gabriella Wyatt, Wyatt Deal, and Myles Deal, and her nineteen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immeasurable joy into her life.

She was heavily involved in Friendspeak where she met her special friend Tracy Yu who became part of her family. Those who knew her often described her as "sweet," and occasionally surprised by her delightful sense of humor—a trait surprising her adult children.

In the comforts of her home in Sugar Land, Texas, Emilie spent her final months encircled by the loving arms of her family in a ten-month journey of hospice care. Her unwavering spirit and grace left an indelible mark on all who crossed her path. The legacy of Emilie Wyatt is one of love and the kind of quiet influence that enriches lives and transcends generations.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Cyrus and Bernice Simpson, and by ten siblings who shared in her early life; she also mourned the loss of her daughter-in-law, Cathy Wyatt, and her grandson, Brett Wyatt. Emilie’s spirit will forever remain a part of the lives she touched, her love—a guiding light that continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all those who knew her.
