Ernesto Morales Ayala

Ernesto (Ernie) Morales Ayala went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Ernie was born February 4, 1961, in Indio, CA and other than serving 4 years in the US Army, called Indio his home for his entire life.
After serving in the Army, Ernie returned to Indio and worked at The Lakes Country Club and Long Electric before landing his dream job with the US Postal Service. Ernie served as a letter carrier for the USPS for 27 years, with 25 of those years on the same route. He loved his job and serving his customers and truly enjoyed going to work every day.
In addition to his work and spending time with his family, Ernie also served in ministry at Grace Chapel Indio for many years. While he served in many ministries over the years, including Kids Club, Cleaning and College Group, his greatest pleasure was serving in the Hospitality Ministry.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Louanne; 2 sons – Ernesto (Sofia) Ayala, Jr. of San Diego and Antonio J. Ayala of Indio; 2 daughters – Angelica Ayala of Indio and Emilia (Ryan) Siffermann of Bermuda Dunes; and his beloved grandson, Michael Siffermann. Also surviving are 8 brothers – Sergio Ayala of Indio, Antonio Ayala of Salinas, Alberto Ayala, Gustavo Ayala, Gerardo Ayala, Victor Carillo, Sostenes Carillo and Carlos Mendoza all of Mexico; 6 sisters – Mary (Sammy) Gonzalez of Indio, Cecilia Martell of New York, Margarita Ayala, Ruth Carrillo and Judith Carrillo all of Mexico; and many nieces and nephews. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Ayala and Margarita Morales.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 23, at 2:30 pm at Grace Chapel Indio, 48395 Madison Street, Indio, CA
