Ernie Nieblas Romo

Ernie Nieblas Romo was born to Juan and Consuelo Romo on April 14, 1948 in El Centro, CA. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lupe Romo. Together they had 8 children who then blessed them with 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is preceded in passing by his father, Juan.
Ernie's final wish was to spend one last Christmas at home. Family traveled from near and far to honor his wish surrounding him in love as he gleamed with joy watching his grandchildren open their gifts from him. These are memories we will cherish forever. Ernie passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, surrounded by loved ones in the early evening hours of January 17, 2017. Ernie will be remembered with deep love and will be forever missed! His passion for music and his love for all things Halloween and Christmas will continue to live on and be celebrated through his devoted wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Hang the fairy lights and paper chains.
And decorate the tree.
Leave mince pies out for Santa Claus.
And my slippers out for me.

And I'll be there with you at Christmas.
For there is nowhere else I'd be.
But right there in the bosom,
of my own dear family.

I'll be sitting in my favorite chair,
and watching all you do.
And when you sing our favorite songs.
I will sing along with you.
I'll be joining in those silly games,
we always used to play.
And hanging onto every word,
that each one has to say.

And when you say: "To you, with love!"
And toast me as you do.
I will return symbolically.
And tell you that I love you too!

I will be there with you at Christmas.
As I will be, every year!
Until one by one you join me.
