Passed peacefully on Sept. 23rd in Tucson at age 91. Esther was born on 9/6/25 in Piscataway, NJ, the only child of Charles and Esther Riggert, and was blessed with many talents. She learned to fly airplanes while still in high school; was a WWII veteran, serving in the USN WAVES as an Aviation Machinist Mate at the Corpus Christi and Kaneohe Bay Naval Air Stations. On re-enlistment, Esther re-trained as a nurse at the U. S. Naval Hospital in Annapolis, MD, where Esther met and eventually married John "Jack" Robertson, an engineer working on construction of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. They moved to Tulsa, OK where their first daughter, Esther, was born in 1953. They moved back East to the Twinbrook subdivision of Rockville, MD where daughter Judy and sons Timothy and John were born. After moving to Gaithersburg, MD in 1967, Esther was active in the Ascension Chapel thrift store; and learned to fly RC airplanes as a member of the AMA and D.C.Radio Control Club. Esther has joined her son, Timothy, in the presence of our Lord and Savior; and is survived by her husband Jack of 64 years; daughters Esther Petersen and Judy Sharkey; son John Robertson; grandsons Mario Robertson, Erik and Charles Petersen, and Chase Robertson; great-grandsons Isaac and Carsten Petersen, and Riley Robertson. Esther was a joy to be around, and was loved by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date .
