Eugene Allen, a beloved member of the Long Beach community, passed away on September 18, 2024 at the age of 85. Born on November 15, 1938, in Portland Arkansas, Eugene lived a life marked by kindness, humor, and a fierce dedication to his family. A graduate of Long Beach Polytechnic high school, he went on to have a fruitful career as an Aerospace Inspector, showcasing his expertise gained from training in radio electronics during his time in the Army.

Eugene’s good-hearten nature and his fun-loving spirit endeared him to many. He was known for his jovial personality and clever jokes, which brought laughter and joy to those around him. He was not merely a father figure; he was a loving husband to his wife, Betty Allen, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home filled with love and laughter.

His legacy lives on through his children, David and Debbie Allen, and his treasured grandchildren: Kacey, David, and Keenan Allen, along with granddaughter-in-law Monica Allen, and his great-grandchildren— Mya, Mikayla, and Malia Allen, as well as Kacey Allen Jr. and Kyle Allen. Eugene took great pride in his family. Being recognized as the world’s greatest father, grandpa, and great-grandpa, demonstrating a commitment to nurturing and supporting his family through all of life’s ups and downs.

In addition to his professional achievements, Eugene was celebrated for his athletic prowess as a track star at Long Beach Polytechnic High School, earning recognition for his long jump championship. An avid sports fan and lover of games, he enjoyed spending time playing checkers, billiards, and dominoes with family and friends, always bringing an element of competitive fun to the table.

Eugene is now reunited with his parents, James and Emma Lee Allen, as well as his brother, Arthur Allen, his aunt Frankie, his cousin, Doris Gray, and sisters-in-law Viviann Alexander and Mary Wilson in eternal rest. He left an indelible mark on all who knew him, and his passion for life, his love for Jesus, and his unwavering devotion to family will forever be cherished. His memory will continue to inspire and resonate within the hearts of those he touched.
