Obituary

Frances Minieon (Hamm) DeHaan, age 92, formerly of Tecumseh, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29th, 2026, in Surprise, Arizona.

Fran was born on March 1, 1934, in Mannford, OK, the 6th of 11 children born to the late James and Geneva (Puckett) Hamm. She graduated from Lakewood High School, Lakewood CO.

She married Andrew DeHaan on December 17, 1952, in Roswell, NM. Upon Andy’s discharge from the Air Force, they moved to Grand Rapids, MI. In 1973 they moved their family to Tecumseh, MI. Fran was an administrative assistant and bookkeeper during a long career ending with Kewaunee Scientific and Tecumseh Products, retiring in 1996.

Family was the center of Fran’s life, and becoming a grandmother brought her immense pride. She spent many years watching her grandchildren grow, enthusiastically following their athletic careers and extracurricular activities. She was able to attend many of these events. Supporting them into adulthood and watching them start families of their own brought her great joy, which only multiplied when she became a “Gigi” to her great-grandchildren.

Fran is survived by her children, Andrew DeHaan (Cathy) of Brooklyn, MI, Jeanne Boldt (John) of Surprise, AZ and Daniel DeHaan (Kelli) of Adrian, MI., her five grandchildren, Ben (Janine) Boldt, Adam DeHaan, Kristin (Sam) DeArmond, Kimberley (Kyle) Bargery, Brad (Kayla) DeHaan and eleven great grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Jerry (Camelia) Hamm of Chapel Hill, TN, her sister Betty White of Lakewood, CO, her brother-in-law, Douglas Bremer of Elizabeth, CO and numerous nieces and nephews.

No memorial service is planned.

Interment will be at Brookside Columbarium in Tecumseh at a later date.
